Preventative Maintenance

By having your air conditioning system checked out annually or bi-annually by a certified contractor, you will save your self unneeded hassle and expense.

Like any machine, your air conditioner needs to be well maintained to ensure proper operation throughout the year. This is also recommended by the Arizona power companies APS and SRP.

Valley Services technicians will inspect your HVAC system for worn, damaged, or underperforming equipment. Once the inspection is complete, you will be informed as to what steps need to be taken, if any, to tune-up your AC. You will be given a quote as to the cost of the service, and you can make the decision to do the repairs or not. This service will keep the efficiency of your air conditioner higher to cut down on costly energy bills, and will also prevent costlier future repairs.
There are steps you should take in maintaining your air conditioning system.
Always follow the instructions that accompany the air filter you purchase.
Most filters should be replaced with a new filter between 1-3 months.
Also, use a garden hose to spray off any debris that has collected on your outdoor coil. If your coil becomes dirty, it can cause a restriction of air flow to your compressor and fan motor possibly causing premature failure. It will also decrease the amount of heat discharged from the refrigerant in the system, this puts unnecessary wear on many components and decreases the efficiency of your HVAC system. In Arizona many units will require the outdoor coil be washed with a heavy duty chemical compound due to the lack of moisture that collects on the coil. This prevents the natural cleaning process that the unit was designed for. This should only be performed by a licensed contractor from a reputable company.
